  • A CENTURY WITH EMMANUEL LEVINAS:
    RESONANCES OF A PHILOSOPHY

(Institute for advanced Studies of the Hebrew, University of Jerusalem, January 16-20, 2006)

The year 2006 marks the first centenary of Emmanuel Levinas’s birth. On this occasion an international conference entitled «A century with Emmanuel Levinas: Resonances of a Philosophy» will take place at the University of Jerusalem.

The Conference will bring together speakers to deal with Levinas’ thought from various perspectives: history of philosophy, phenomenology, ethics and politics, literary and art criticism, Jewish and Christian philosophy, hermeneutics of the Bible and Talmud. The aim is to embrace most aspects of Levinas philosophy as well as their applications to contemporary thought. A special emphasis will be laid on the Jewish inspiration and its relationship with other monotheisms.

  • II SEMINARIO INTERNACIONAL DE FILOSOFÍA POLÍTICA
    «REALISMOS Y UTOPÍAS EN AMÉRICA LATINA:
    FRAGMENTACIÓN Y LUCHAS DEMOCRÁTICAS»

(Costa Rica, San José, 12-16 de febrero de 2006)

CLACSO organizó el II Seminario Internacional de Filosofía Política en la ciudad de San José, Costa Rica. En este encuentro el Dr.Enrique Dussel participó con el trabajo titulado «Los principios normativos de la política».

Entre los participantes también se encontraron Atilio Borón, Franz Hinkelammert, Guillermo Hoyos, Marcos Costa y Delfín Grueso, entre otros.

  • BEING HUMANITY.
    ANTROPOLIGY IN WORLD’S PHILOSOPHIES

(Italy, Macerata, 15-17 Maggio 2006)

The aim of the 2006 conference is to make different philosophers, all coming from different cultural backgrounds, interact. This will focus on the question of human identity in its poliphonic univerality, as it emerges from those philosophies elaborated in Asia, Africa, Australasia, America and Europe.
The reason for this proposal mainly lay the crisis of self -undestanding upon contemporary humanity, that, under effect of globalization, wars and terrorism, technology superpower, and the trend of misunderstanding both the difference and the universality of our human condition, with the risk of loosing the sense of human. the focus of those talking part to the conference will have to be on the following questions:
a. wich images of human identity do we have to distance from
b. wich aspects and traits we cannot do without and are essencial
c. what is ten specific contribution of each philosophy coming from all the different cultural backgrounds of the relators, taking into consideration both the anthropological indications and the method of research.

  • JUBILÄUMSSYMPOSIUM 2006
    «20 JAHRE THEOLOGIE INTERKULTURELL»

(Deutsch, Frankfurt, 18-20 Mai 2006)

Das in der Regel jährlich stattfindende internationale Symposium dient dem Forschungsankiegen, Theologie in interkultureller Perspektive zu profilieren. Es wird jeweils von einem Mitglied des Fachbereichs im Zusammenhang mit dessen Forschungsschewer punkten organisiert. Dazu werden neben dem/der amtiereden GastprotessorIn ein interdisziplinärer, internationaler und interkultureller Kreis von WissenschaftlerInnen, VertreterInnen aus anderen Bereichen wie Menschenrechts-und Nicht-Regierungs-Organisation eingeladen. Im Laufe der Jahre haben aunch zahlreiche KollegInenaus anderen Fachbereichen der Universität Beiträge aus ihren jeweiligen Forschungsprojekt beschäftigt sich aus Anlass des 20jährigen Jubiläums mit kontextuell-theologischen Ansätzen für den Kultur-und Religionsdialog im 21. Jahrhundert.

  • II FORO INTERNACIONAL DE FILOSOFÍA DE VENEZUELA

(Venezuela, Caracas, 06-12 de Julio de 2006)

El 2° Foro Internacional de filosofía de Venezuela estuvo organizado en siete mesas de discusión sobre los temas políticos e históricos más relevantes que han acontecido en América Latina y el Caribe en los últimos años. En la Mesa 1: Poder imperial y alternativas emancipatorias en el Siglo XXI, entre otros participantes, estuvieron Francisco Beltrán (Colombia) y Ricardo Melgar (México); en la Mesa 2: Sujeto y Revolución, participaron Enrique Dussel (México) y Franz Hinkelammert (Costa Rica), entre otros; en la Mesa 3: Humanismo y terror, destacaron las participaciones de Alfonso Sastre (España), Carmen Bohórquez (Venezuela) y Gianni Vattimo (Italia), y; en la Mesa 4: Globalización, democracia y diversidad, destacó la participación de Ana Esther Ceceña (México) y Jason Garner (Inglaterra), entre otros.

  • SEMINARIO DE ÉTICA Y POLÍTICA

(Bolivia, La Paz, 17-21 de Julio de 2006)

En esta visita a La Paz Bolivia, Enrique Dussel expusó sobre el tema de la subsunción de los principios éticos en la política desde la prespectiva de la Filosofía de la Liberación, durante una semana. Por las mañanas dicho evento fue a modo de un seminario intensivo de 20 horas, y por las tardes como parte de un diplomado en Derecho.

También en esta visita fue presentado el día miércoles 19 el nuevo libro 20 Tesis de política escrito por Dussel.

  • III REUNIÓN DE LA ASOCIACIÓN FILOSÓFICA CARIBEÑA

(Canada, Montreal, 1-3 Agosto de 2006)

La Asociación Filosófica del Caribe organizó su tercera reunión anual en la ciudad de Montreal, Cánada. En ella se reunieron filósofos y pensadores latinoamericanos para discutir los problemas sociales fundamentales de la región latinoamericana, tales como: racismo, política, etc. Así mismo, en esta reunión fueron convocados miembros del grupo del «Descolonizer Turn» y de la «Filosofía de la Liberación».

En este evento también tuvo lugar una presentación del más reciente libro de Enrique Dussel: 20 Tesis de política .

  • 30 ANIVERSARIO DE LOS EXILIADOS EN ARGENTINA

(Argentina, Mendoza, Agosto de 2006)

A treinta años del exilio de decenas de argentinos, a finales del mes de agosto del 2006 tuvo lugar una reunión histórica en la Universidad de Mendoza, campus en el que muchos de aquellos jóvenes alumnos y profesores antes de ser exiliados tomaban y daban cátedra, así se reunieron en la mencionada universidad personalidades como Enrique Dussel y Horacio Cerutti, quienes antes del exilio, eran profesores en la Universidad de Mendoza, y quienes ahora son profesores de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (FFyL) de la reconocida y prestigiada Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)..
